1. Communications Engineer required to work within our engineering
team with the following activities:
Protocol Interoperability testing; ensuring SIP and H.323 compatibility
between the various components of the VQ solution (voice/video soft
client, conference bridges(MCUs), traversal systems and room based video
conference systems (LifeSize High Definition, Tandberg).
System Management
Automation; VQ systems are currently based on Windows and Linux;
our longer term plans for this year are to migrate fully to Linux with
clustered, high availability systems. Experience of scripting (bash,
python, ruby) in this type of environment would be ideal but not mandatory.
Skills: Solid
understanding of SIP and H323 protocols. Ability to analyze protocol
traces and identify interoperability issues and work with suppliers
to resolve is mandatory.
Good team work; we work with a range of international partners. It is
mandatory that the candidate can work efficiently in such an environment.
Networking; solid knowledge of TCP/IP.
Ideally, experience of Linux administration, scripting, High Availability
and integration.
Ideally, knowledge of c#, asp.net
Any knowledge of Mono would also be useful
General: VQ
delivers class leading business quality videoconferencing over IP. The
candidate will work within the engineering team working on next generation
versions of VQ. We are looking for bright, articulate engineers who
want to build and deliver outstanding video conferencing services. This
requires excellent knowledge of the protocols, problem resolution skills
and an attitude that challenges the status quo. The successful candidate
will probably have a degree/masters in computer science.
VQ is a small, VC funded company. The environment is demanding but friendly.
