BBC Broadcasts Live using VQ Conferencing Services.
August 2006.
Points West at Bristol broadcast live during their evening news coverage
of A level results, using VQ Desktop Conferencing Services, from VQ Communications
Ltd.
Four students in Taunton, Bristol, Swindon and Cheltenham, lined up to
take part in a multi-point voice and video call to the BBC, from their
PC's using VQ and standard USB Web Cams and head-set/microphones.
Scott Ellis, of BBC Bristol who co-ordinated the broadcast said afterwards,
"We contacted VQ Communications to help with an ambitious webcam
project - to get four A level students on air live via webcam. We had
not done this before and relied entirely on their technical expertise
to get our four guests kitted out with the right software. In the space
of one week we went to air. Everyone was very pleased with the results
and are already thinking about how we can use this in the future."
